Update: Mister Krabs has been adopted!
I had the privilege of riding along to go to West Virginia to retrieve two brand new greyhounds today. One of those chosen is Mister Krabs, a muscular boy that was so very happy to be let outside into the turn-out pen. (He was one of a group of greyhounds that all had Spongebob Squarepants names.)
Mister Krabs is a happy and energetic boy, even in the middle of a terrible thunderstorm, which was going on at the time that these pictures were taken. His favorite thing to do was to stare out the windows of the car at the world around him, a world that he hadn't seen much of. He was completely astounded when we drove through downtown Pittsburgh, and he saw people milling around. He would hang his head out the window to get better look, eyes wide, tongue lolling. He was FASCINATED.
The people at the kennel were pleased to see Mister Krabs coming into our adoption program - apparently, he would go into mourning every time someone came in and didn't choose him, and he would refuse to eat for a day. What a sensitive soul! There was no way we were leaving him there after hearing that.
Mister Krabs is looking for a home of his own.
